Commissioners Boyd and Wells present

The business meeting contained the usual … a cereal malt beverage license, several tax roll corrections, board appointments and two personnel action forms.

Clancy Holeman held an administrative executive work session.

Cindy Volanti, HR Manager, brought up the question of requiring that appointed department heads reside in Riley County. Some places have such requirements. Several people spoke to the question. One factor is the proximity of Pottawatomie County where a person would be living closer than someone in the north of Riley. Is proximity more important than living within county borders. Is it a tax-paying question?

How long a grace period would be granted if the person had to move in order to fulfill the requirement?

It was decided to leave things as they are for the time being.

The meeting adjourned before 10:00.
