The preliminary discussion about developing a sewer district in Fairmont provoked some discussion about extent, cost, financing and participation options. One attendee expressed concerns that this would be a step on a “slippery slope” ending up with the area being annexed to the city of Manhattan. He was against that. No action was taken at this time.

OKT-Flu-ber-fest, Oct. 8, from 3 to 7, was a big success. Flu shots were given to 301 persons. Activities were provided for the children who came. It was held in Pottorf Hall using the main room for giving the flu shots and the patio for games and booths.

Bob Isaac, Planner, presented proposed plat for Sugarbush addition subdivision four. The BOCC approved.

Laurie Harrison announced training Oct. 24 &31 for the CERT team. This is Community Emergency Response Team. The program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills. More info at lharrison@rileycountyks.gov or (785)537-6333.
